Web hosting is a service that allows organizations and individuals to post a website or web page on to the Internet. A web host, or web hosting service provider, is a business that provides the technologies and services needed for the website or webpage to be viewed in the Internet. Websites are hosted, or stored, on special computers called servers.
When Internet users want to view your website, all they need to do is type your website address into their browser. Their computer will then connect to your server and your webpages will be delivered to them through the browser.
Most hosting companies require that you own your domain name in order to host with them. If you do not have a domain name, the hosting companies will help you purchase one.
The most convenient way to transfer your website's files to your new web hosting account is through FTP. You can connect to your other hosting account and download the files locally. Then you should upload them to your hosting account's main folder (usually public_html, www or httpdocs).
You need to upload the pages to the web host. If the host is a cPanel/Linux host, you put your pages into the public_html or www folder. The exact name of the folder may vary depending on the hosting environment. For example, Windows hosts will often be completely different. If you can't figure it out, ask the hosting company or search Google for information about the Control Panel that is used at your host. Good luck.
Many hosting companies like us offer a free domain name when you buy a shared or reseller hosting plan. All you have to do is sign up. Whether or not using a free domain name from your hosting company is a good idea is an entirely different question.
If you are a beginner then our shared hosting plan will be perfect for you, but if are a little bit more advanced then you can buy vps hosting for better performance.
